If you are wondering why all these names appear together, the reason is because of their meaning. In fact, there is one more important biblical name that fits in this name list: Isaiah, Ye•sha•aya•hu. Each of these names relates to God’s salvation.
Yeshua, Jesus, means: ‘God is salvation.’
We discussed a few months ago the similarity of this name to the word ‘salvation,’ ‘ye•shu•ah.’ You, too, may be aware of the proximity of the word ‘ye•shu•ah’ to the Hebrew name of Jesus, Ye•shua. In the word ‘salvation,’ we separate and stress the last syllable ‘ah,’ whereas in the name ‘Jesus’ we read the ‘shua’ as one syllable with no separation. Lately, there are quite a few people who are mispronouncing Jesus’s name by calling him ‘Ya•shua,’ trying to make a combination between the name Yeshua and the name ‘Yah,’ the Father’s name. Ya•shua is not a valid name, nor is this practice supported anywhere in the Bible. This is a distortion of both names and of the rules of the Hebrew language. The idea may be nice and sweet, but the outcome is an artificial distortion. Please align your calling upon Yeshua with the Bible and avoid doing this.
Yehoshua, Josuah, means the same as Yeshua: ‘God is Salvation.’
Hoshea, Hosea, is an imperative which means: ‘God, Save!’ (Bring Salvation).
Yeshaayahu, Isaiah, means: ‘God is salvation.’ There is an extra emphasis of the idea of salvation in this name, and you can understand it this way: ‘God is salvation, He is!
