If you followed on March 17, 2014 and the weeks thereafter the mass media frenzy about the ‘earth shattering discovery’ of the ‘Gravitational Waves from the Big Bang’ – i.e. earth’s birth – you could not have not missed the joyous expressions of triumph on the part of the US’s top scientific community. They viewed the ‘discovery’ as the ‘smoking gun’ of the Big Bang, pointing the way toward new theories of physics, experts said.
“This is huge,” said Marc Kamionkowski, professor of physics and astronomy at Johns Hopkins University, who was not involved in the discovery, but who predicted back in 1997 how these gravitational wave imprints could be found.
“It’s not every day that you wake up and find out something completely new about the early universe. To me this is as Nobel Prize-worthy as it gets.”
As a result of this ‘discovery,’ scientists calculated the ‘exact’ age of the earth as: ‘whatever.76’ billion years. Bingo! How exciting! I was especially excited about the point 76 at the end of the very impressive number. Facing such an accurate number, any ordinary laymen should jump to upright attention.
This recent ‘discovery’ resulted in a fiasco just a few months later. The gravitational waves were found to be nothing more than just dust in outer space. On Friday September 26, 2014, Phillip Ball wrote in The Guardian: “Scientists got it wrong on gravitational waves. So what?” They also admitted, in light of the false assumption, that the earth is actually 0.73 billion years younger. We just have to sit quietly and wait for more age changes. This recent correction would surely make our old Earth happy and cheerful when it hears about its ‘new age.’ I would, if someone could deduct 73 million years from my age. A quick calculation indicates that this would make me somewhat younger…
Earth in Hebrew is A•retz, very close to the English name. The soil or ground that covers the earth is called a•da•ma. Yesterday, we discussed the name ‘Adam,’ man. The Bible tells us that God made Adam (man) from the ground. Unlike any language in the world, Hebrew attests to this description by the mere name that connects the two: Man (adam) came from the ground (a•da•ma).
Personally, I believe the Bible regardless of how ‘scientific’ the ape-and-family theories may sound:
“And the Lord God formed man of the dust of the ground, and breathed into his nostrils the breath of life; and man became a living soul”
